  • Executor has the right to do this?

My mother recently passed away and brother is executor of the will. He found an annuity but names my two brothers and I the beneficiary's . Brother wants me to sign it over to pay the funeral home expenses and I told him it should go to the beneficiary's and to find another way to pay the expenses.I currently live in another state and told my brother that we should be reimbursed for paying the expenses since no money came out of his pocket to pay anything. Told him to have his lawyer send me something in writing stating that we will be reimbursed for expenses. Thanks for your help!! Let the nightmare begin

A life ins. policy or annuity with a named beneficiary or beneficiaries - the proceeds should go the bene(s) to do with as they wish. If there is an estate, burial expenses
should be paid out of the estate assets. (along with any other creditors)
Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around. Leo Buscaglia
