  • Getting going...

    Hello everybody

Some months ago I posted a thread about thinking of emigrating and
received many favourable responses. My family and I have just been to
melbourne for a month and loved it. My relatives live in the Mornington
Peninsula and this is where we have decided that we want to go.

    Now for my questions...

I am a psychiatric nurse with husband and 2 kids under 5. Whilst there
I made enquiries about work and was told that I would get a job.
However I have made the decision not to be sponsored and want to go on
our own esteem. I spoke to several expats there who were sponsored and
they found this to be very stressful.

So I am stating to gather evidence for my nurse registration. I
understand that I am unable to apply for a visa before I receive this
back so would like some advice please.

Which visa should I apply for as i thought it would be a skilled
independent visa, but when at sandown park an agent said if I was
sponsored by relatives and skilled I could get in quicker. He said that
it was a different visa. I appreciate that I have a little time at the
moment but thought I could start filling it in whilst waiting for a
    reply from nursing board.

If anyone can help I would be very grateful.

    Irene
