  • Sales Tax on Used Equipment Tennessee Tennessee

We are selling used commercial laundry equipment to a vendor to process our linen with. This was purchased by us in the 1980's. Are we supposed to charge them sales tax on the equipment, total is around $101k. If so, what rate should we use?
    Thanks

Your best bet is to contact the State and find out how you should handle this. The sales tax may be handled differently for a variety of reasons. If the vendor is in another state or county that could make a difference, for instance.

Here is a link to the TN FAQs about sales and use tax: http://www.tn.gov/revenue/faqs/salesandusefaq.htm

The contact information should be there as well.
