Hello,
My fiance unexpectedly passed away May 21. I was named beneficiary of his life insurance. Two policies. His ex wife put a claim on the policy. In their divorce it stated " John should maintain work life insurance when there is an obligation for child support/ alimony at all times and the ex would be named beneficiary"
That is all it said. I have had several attorneys online say that because ex is remarried and the children are all grown there is no obligation. However there are arrears and according to Wisconsin state law that would go to his estate.
The insurance company has been told this several times but decided the ex and I must reach an agreement and if not, go to litigation.
What is going on? Wisconsin State law means nothing?
