My friend and his girlfriend have been together for twenty years, except for 2 one year periods when they were split up. They have three children together, plus she has a 2 1/2 year old from the last time they split. He has mostly worked in the home, taking care of the household and the children. She works outside of the home, and generally pays the family expenses. Whenever she gets angry, which happens more and more frequently, she takes his phone and car keys and kicks him out. Her step-father recently bought a home for her, and he has paid a lot of their expenses over the years.
My question, after this twenty year relationship, is she right in assuming everything is hers, and nothing is his? Is he entitled to half of wealth they accumulated? Including the new house? Palimony payments? What should he do to assert his rights? He thanks you.
