David Denby's review of "I "heart" Huckabees" in this week's New
    Yorker begins as follows:

Movie disasters (not to be confused with disaster movies) come in many
styles. There are the leaden twelve-footed monsters ("Pearl Harbor,"
"King Arther"), the relentless whirligigs ("Men in Black II," the
remake of "Planet of the Apes"), the attempts to wash the audience's
brains out with pedagogic soap (the collected work of Lars von Trier).

I just saw two very good movies. "Mystic River" was fabulous...I know it
took me a while to see it! I don't know why I was reluctant, but WOW. Then
Tim and I watched Kevin Spacey and Danny DeVito in 2000's "The Big Kahuna."
Both movies featured outstanding acting performances. Spacey always blows
me away. I highly recommend both films.

I thought Mystic River was great too.

I'll try to remember that one. I like Spacey too.

For a minute there, I thought that was "Dougville".

"Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind" was good also.

Yeah, I thought it was great (though maybe 20 minutes too long)! I
think I might have posted about it here, but I saw it the expensive
way, and now I think it's in the video stores.
