IL name change in 2 days & very nervous

I live in Champaign, Illinois and I am due to have my name legally changed in court on 1/18. I did all the paperwork and filing myself and now I'm unsure of one thing. Birth Certificate. Do I need to bring it to court with me? I'll shrivel up and die if I get there and find out I need it! $200 down the drain!

I have no idea but if your unsure then you should take it with you just in case you do need it. Also if you have any paper work than you would think it would tell you what to bring. Im not an expert in any means but I try to help when I can.

Usually they require you to attach a copy to the petition. If you didn't do this, then bring a copy with you.
