My girlfriend is 16 and i am 18 our birthdays are 2 years and 10 months apart her mom doesn't want us to date because of a guy in her past. We are not having sex and are not goin to. Her mom doesn't want us to date and says its illegal to date her daughter is she correct or am i good as long as i keep my hands 2 myself??

Well, regardless of whether or not the relationship is "legal", her mother has complete and irrevocable control over who her daugter may or may not associate with. Apparently, she doesn't want you to have anything to do with her daughter. That's the only answer you need.

Since I am nice, though, I will tell you that the age of consent in GA is 16. You would not face any sexual offense charges. But if her mother says no and you defy her orders, she can get a restraining order against you. If you break that restraining order, you get to face criminal charges. Age of consent and age of majority (18) are two seperate things. When she is 18 and living on her own, she can control who she is seeing. Until then, her mom does. Period.
