Can a 20 year old male have sex with a 16 year old girl? Her parents are fine with it but she is also going to a therapist, can the therapist tell the authorities? From what I've searched online the age of consent is 16 in the state of CT

You posted your question in the employment law forum. I will move it to a more appropriate forum.

I believe it’s the parents of a 16 year old girl who is having sex with a 20 year old male who should be seeing a therapist, not the other way around !

can the therapist tell the authorities? From what I've searched online the age of consent is 16 in the state of CT
      If you're sure,
      why do you ask ?

      What one should ask,

Is the 20 year old male have sex with a 16 year old girl willing to risk YOU being wrong…?
      AND,

What happens if her parents are suddenly not so fine with the idea of their 16 year old little girl having sex with a 20 year old male ?
Being of the age of consent would just eliminate one of about a half dozen or more charges he could face…
Do you think the words JAIL. Or prison might give him reason to reconsider..
      Nah, probably not..
Just tell him that if things should get ugly,
      Remind him to
learn to sleep on his back

Parents cannot consent to illegal acts! That being said the age of consent in CT is 16 so unless you two engaged in "any" illegal act (does not have to be just intercourse) before she turned 16 you should be fine

There is something seriously wrong with 20 year old who wants to have sex with a child. And a 16 year old IS a child, regardless of whether the act is legal or not.

It may be legal. It is NOT right. And if her parents are fine with it, then then her parents should be stripped of their guardianship of her.
The above answer, whatever it is, assumes that no legally binding and enforceable contract or CBA says otherwise. If it does, then the terms of the contract or CBA apply.

No one here is going to help you feel good, or even okay, with being, essentially, a child molestor. And that's what a 20 year old is when they want to have sex with a 16 year old. At least have the good sense to use protection, always, so you don't ruin her life by getting her pregnant.
