Q: I was just curious if a father were to sign his parental rights over to the state would he have to continue paying child support?

A: And exactly how does a father sign over his parental rights to the state?

But it is nice of you to think to burden the rest of us taxpayers with your child's upkeep.

      Thanks a bunch.
Not everything that makes you mad, sad or uncomfortable is legally actionable.

        No, it is not possible.

However, if the mother is married and the mother's husband wishes to adopt, the father could sign over his rights and not have to pay any further CS. But, would still have to pay any arrears that accrued before the adoption.
