Temp Restraining order/ No address to serve California

The judge approved a temporary restraining order today. Now I need to serve my ex but I don't have an address, don't know where he lives. What else can I do. I asked the Sheriff and they said to hire a private investigator. I am not able to afford one at this time. Any advice?

Ask his friends and family, his employer, have him served at his job, do an internet serach, or my personal favorite, try the white pages. It's not as hard to find someone as you might think.
