My 17-year-old daughter is wanting to go live with her 20-year-old boyfriend. I do not approve of him. I have sent her to a boarding school is Texas. However, would she legally be able to leave the boarding school to go stay with him?

I know that the age of consent is 17 in Texas. However, I was unsure regarding the age limit in which she could decide to go live with him. Also, can she be physically made to stay at the boarding school?

Thank you so much for taking the time to read this.

She cannot leave the boarding school to go live with you. The legal age of consent has nothing to do with the age of majority which in this case is 18. Your girlfriend stays put.

When she is 18, she can go anywhere she wants and live with whomever she wants. Until then, she lives where you tell her she lives.

As Hawk says, the age at which she can legally consent to sex and the age of majority when she can move out without permission are not the same.
The above answer, whatever it is, assumes that no legally binding and enforceable contract or CBA says otherwise. If it does, then the terms of the contract or CBA apply.
