  • child support re-evaluation Virginia

My husband currently pays child support for his 2 sons. When child support was determined there was child care added in. The children no longer require child care. Does he have to get a laywer and go to court to have the support readjusted?

What does the judgment in his lawsuit say (if anything) about your question?
“Be not niggardly of what costs thee nothing, as courtesy, counsel, & countenance.”

If his court order does not have an ending date for the child care, he will need to file for a modification of the CS. He can do this without an attorney, but he'll need to read up on your state's laws and court rules.
Additionally, if he is earning more now he'll need to run the numbers through a CS calculator to see if filing will be worth it.
