  • wrongful termination Louisiana Louisiana

i was terminated and the reason was "violating policy" treatment of confidential information.
The information is listed as confidential information to financial affairs of senior management. It also states that there is no basis for me to have access, nor do I have access.
The employer is a credit union and I have no first hand knowledge of their personal affairs.
I asked what exactly did I do or say that violated policy and they would not or could not answer me.
Is it legal in Louisiana for employers do this?

It is legal in all 50 states for employers to do that.
The above answer, whatever it is, assumes that no legally binding and enforceable contract or CBA says otherwise. If it does, then the terms of the contract or CBA apply.

Agree that your employer did not do anything illegal. They did not have to tell you what policy you violated.
Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around. Leo Buscaglia
