  • What is Fully Compensated?

I was involved in a severe accident while on the job. I have been receiving workers comp benefits and I am working but only with the aid of pain pills. My attorney and I had a mediation with the liable party and a settlement was reached. I still face possible back surgery. (3 herniated discs, permanent nerve damage in right leg, surgery on left shoulder and one surgery on two lower discs in back)

This week my attorney received a letter from the attorney representing my organization. They want to be reimbursed for their money spent.

How do you define fully compensated according to GA workers comp law? What rights do I have? I'm left with just about nothing after I paying my attorney.

Can anyone recommend a good workers comp attorney?

Are you saying that a third party was responsible for your injury and that the WC carrier subrogated the claim?

Yes. A third party was responsible for my injury. The WC carrier subrogated the claim and said they will try to get the money from the third party. If they can't they are coming after me.
