    I can offer you pretty much a guarantee that MRI films were not thrown away. They may have been misfiled, sent to archive, returned to the original provider, or something else altogether but I seriously doubt that they were thrown away.

    We can't know who will have a copy and whether they would be willing to send them, but your best option would be to contact whoever took the first films originally. They would have given you (or sent to other providers) copies, not the originals (at least that's how it's managed where I live). They should be able to provide a second copy.
    The above answer, whatever it is, assumes that no legally binding and enforceable contract or CBA says otherwise. If it does, then the terms of the contract or CBA apply.

      MRI films are kept electronically these days. If you contact the place that took the MRI, then they should be able to provide another copy. There may be a nominal charge, but you can get the actual films.
