  • voc rehab rep.s Ohio

can anyone detail the job, and responsibility's of the voc rehab rep.s to, and for the injured workers? are they supposed to be there to help you, like with answering questions, and helping with issues? can anyone give a complete list of what they are to be doing for, and with the injured workers? are they not supposed to be helping injured workers?

Your voc plan would be the best source of information here. What exactly they need to be doing for you varies from case to case and would be oulined in a voc plan. In most cases they are not to give medical advice not are they directly involved in treatment. Their goal generally is to help you identify what jobs in the open market you are qualified to perform and assist you in applying and securing those positions. Sometimes there is a period of job training or education but not always. Voc rehab can be as complex as arranging for occupational training for a totally new career or as simple as having someone follow up with you on job leads and applications. One size does not fit all.

But there has to be some form of job description. The BWC wants our job description from the EOR ASAP after an injury that becoms a lost time claim, instead of medical only. hwj just needs to know where to find it.

It still can't be that hard to get a job description for a Voc. Rehab specialist in Ohio. Where should we start to look, anyone know that much?

Job descriptions are going to vary, just as they would for any profession from employer to employer. You can read more about voc rehab in Ohio here http://downloads.ohiobar.org/convent...tionUpdate.pdf
