  • workmans comp--insurance benefits? Alabama

I have a brother that was injured on the job.He is recieving WORKMANS COMP
checks but they do not cover anything other than partial pay based on what he works. There is nothing wrong with that part. What he and I were wondering is.....if he is only being paid partial payment for expected hours worked. What will happen to his Medical,Dental, and Vision insurances? Is the company he works for supposed to pay that on his behalf or not..or will he simply lose his benefits? Any information that someone can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Is his leave also FMLA-qualifying? Or do you know?
I don't respond to Private Messages unless the moderator specifically refers you to me for that purpose. Thank you.

What do they pay now? There is nothing in WC law that states the employer must cover the premiums while an employee is off work or on modified duty because of a work injury despite a persistant belief that is the case. Why would he assume he would lose his benefits?
I post with the full knowledge and support of my employer, though the opinions rendered are my own and not necessarily representative of their position. In other words, I'm a free agent.
