  • PA comp law question Pennsylvania

PA form LIBC-344 requires "Dependent" information.
I have been asked Why the insurance company needs that info, and I don't have an answer(although I have an idea) but want to be accurate when I give an answer. Does anyone know why that information is mandatory on the forms required by the WC insurance companies?

    Thanks in advance.

Because when the regulations were developed, the powers that be decided they wanted to capture that information. In the case of a death, the number of dependents becomes a huge factor as there are benefits awarded to surviving dependents.
