  • WC claims in different states Pennsylvania and New York

We have operations in 4 states, and WC coverage in each state. We had an injury in NY that is being handled in NY by that carrier. But our corp headquarters are in PA, and somehow our PA carrier thinks that we are supposed to report his injury to them. We told them it was a NY injury and employee but they insisted.

    Is this screwy or no?

    Thanks.

Yes, that is a bit unusual unless they are requesting the information for the organization as a whole for a premium rate quote or something. I'd ask them why they need to know about claims in other states.
I post with the full knowledge and support of my employer, though the opinions rendered are my own and not necessarily representative of their position. In other words, I'm a free agent.
