  • WC-Second Opinion? HELP Michigan

MICHIGAN.... I have been going through my employers Physicians for a work related injury since August. Under the care of their Specialist, had hand X-ray & EMG. Said no CTS (Although during the test experienced bleeding & total hand numbness, asked why, received no answer!). First diagnosis was Carpal Tunnel & Tenosynovitis. Have been going through Occupational Therapy (Not any better), now the Dr. has referred me to a hand surgeon, because he said that if it was Tenosynovitis that therapy should have helped it by now. Recently seen the hand surgeon for him to say "Well I don't think it is anything serious, but I have 2 recommendations for the Dr. which is an MRI or Cortisone shots into the Carpal Tunnel. It is possible that you may have a pinched nerve". My Question is: Am I entitled to a second opinion? I feel like they don't even know what they are treating, and I am not getting the answers I need PLEASE ANYONE HAVE HELPFUL INFORMATION??

After the first 10 days of treatment, you may choose your own care provider, but you must inform the employer of who this will be.
I post with the full knowledge and support of my employer, though the opinions rendered are my own and not necessarily representative of their position. In other words, I'm a free agent.
