    In California, if an exempt employee leaves the company in mid week, is the employee paid for the entire week or just up to date?

    In all 50 states, they are only legally due any time until the last day actually worked.

    An employer MAY pay through the end of the pay period but they are not required to by law.
    The above answer, whatever it is, assumes that no legally binding and enforceable contract or CBA says otherwise. If it does, then the terms of the contract or CBA apply.
