    I was told by my employer that he does not have to pay time and half for hours over 40. That the laws have changed and that he can pay straight time on over time. I would like to know the facts on this for south carolina.

    Um, no. And even if they did, federal law requires 1.5 pay for over 40 hours worked in a workweek, and when federal and state law are in conflict, the law providing the greater benefit to the employee is the one that applies.
    Sheesh, does he think his employees aren't going to research this stuff?
