    I work for a consulting company in MD. This company has a policy that if you leave the company within a year of going to training, even if that training is at the request of the client and required for the job you have to pay back a certain percentage of the training. Is this legal?

    It is legal. Whether or not the specific agreement is enforceable can only be answered by an attorney who has read the agreement.
    The above answer, whatever it is, assumes that no legally binding and enforceable contract or CBA says otherwise. If it does, then the terms of the contract or CBA apply.

      Yep, it's legal. It stinks, IMHO, but it's legal.
