  • Florida Law and Vacation/Sick Days

Does Florida law require employers to give any vacation days, paid holidays, or sick days?

  • #2
No. In fact, no state does. Whether to provide any vacation time, sick days, holidays or any other form of paid or unpaid leave and if such is provided, how much, is entirely up to the employer.

This assumes that you are not a public employee.
The above answer, whatever it is, assumes that no legally binding and enforceable contract or CBA says otherwise. If it does, then the terms of the contract or CBA apply.
