In Florida, the enforcement of wage and hour laws is pretty weak. They generally defer to federal. The Florida Dept. of Labor may be able to help her, or may refer her to the federal DOL.

In any case, an investigation would require that the employer prove that she did not work the hours she claimed. It's pretty easy to tell when something has been whited out, even on a photocopy or microfiched copy.

    supervisor tampering with Time sheets

My wife recently noticed that she was being "short changed" on her pay. When she checked her timesheets she noticed that her hours had been "whited out" and less hours were put in. When my wife asked her director about this she was told that she (the director) had changed the timesheets and had not discussed it with her. She claimed that it was her "right to do that" if she felt an employee was working too many hours and was coming close to working overtime. Wherever I worked, supervisors would always go to the employee before the fact to discuss this and I was always told you always put the actual hours worked on a timesheet as this is a legal requirement. My wife was then fired at the end of the week. When she asked why she was told there had been complaints from the customers. My wife had never been notified of any complaints and asked to speak to the directors boss. The boss said that since florida is an "at will" state, they didn't have to give her any information about complaints or even a reason for her termination. I feel now that the reason she was fired was due to the timesheet tampering. is there any laws about timesheet tampering or "shortchanging employyes" in the State if Florida??
