  • Mandatory Meetings - OR

I live in Oregon and work at a minimum wage job. We get paid the 10th and 25th of every month.

Recently, our store manager and assistant manager sprung it on us that in order to get our paychecks on the 10th, we are required to attend a mandatory, paid crew meeting. We did not sign anything that said the crew agreed to this.

    Is this legal?

Yes, as long as you are paid for the ime you spend in the mandatory meeting (assuming that the need for the meeting is some licensing issue for the employee).

Yes, but every month? THe first meeting we had was general announcements (like, be friendly, stop wasting so much food, etc), stuff that I already knew.

Topics such as wasting food is not a licensing issue. It would cause that meeting to be paid.
