  • paying server wage to work in the kitchen

What is the name of your state? Ohio

Ok i work at a certain pizza place. I serve there for 2.21 an hour plus tips. We hardly get any business anymore. So my boss came up with this grand idea that on not so busy nights that server gets to close both server and kitchen. Now we usually have 2 cooks, a driver and server. We are open till 11 except weekends. Now the server is usually scheduled off at 10. What my boss is doing is sending home the second cook. And having the server finish all the of the server's closing stuff. Then stay under server pay *2.21 an hour* while closing kitchen. This sounds pretty messed up to me and im wondering if it is even legal?
