This is the 2nd post I've made with no response, I need help as soon as possible with an overpayment of a Bonus in New York. My company double deposited a bonus along with a regular paycheck. We have just received a Fed Ex letter that states we are "requesting" that you submit a check to ****** by August 8th in a specific amount. There were no calculations included as to how they got to that number. I have requested a breakdown but have gotten no response as of yet. I know that taxes were withheld but I do not understand how 6 different employees can have a repayment amounts from $3,000 - $4,500 for the same amount of bonus deposited. What reprocutions can be instated if I wait past the August 8th deadline since I will be on vacation. Thank you.

Your best bet is going to be to talk to your state Department of Labor.
The above answer, whatever it is, assumes that no legally binding and enforceable contract or CBA says otherwise. If it does, then the terms of the contract or CBA apply.
