    If employed in New York can an employer demand your ability to cover the absences or illnessses of their other employees in neighboring States? For example CT or NJ while residing in NY.I am an hourly and commissioned employee

    Yes, they can...as long as you are properly compensated, e.g., overtime, etc.

      I am not compensated other than my hourly NY wage.

        That is all that is required..including any overtime that may be incurred.
