  • commision structure & changes

Is it legal to change commision structures every several months, and in the change, not pay out the commisions that were or would be earned under the previous structure? I live in CA and have had this happen several time over the past year.

    Commissions

If the commission plan is being changed so as to short the employees on their payment, it is illegal. However, if that is not the intention, then the employer can change the commissio. You can read more about California's regulation on commissions by reading page 127 of the following website: http://www.dir.ca.gov/dlse/DLSEManua...enfcmanual.pdf
