  • Can employer deduct pay for company money lost? California

I have been working very hard for almost 3 years for the company I work for. I am loyal and very honest. I have experienced several times now where my boss wants to take money out of my check whenever there has been any money lost due to an honest mistake. This company is one that is based on sales and is not doing so well financially because of the economy.

Is this right? Can she really legally deduct my pay for the money lost for an honest mistake?

    Thank you kindly,

I don't respond to Private Messages unless the moderator specifically refers you to me for that purpose. Thank you.

      Thank You

Thank you for that quick answer.

I didn't think it was right and I want to thank you for the direct link. I went on to the California EDD site this morning and wasn't sure where to go to find my answer.
