Is it legal for an employer to reduse your pay with out letting you know?

  • #2
Generally speaking a worker should be given advance warning prior to working at a "new" reduced pay rate. Advance notice could be verbal or written and could be announced just prior to your shift starting. While this is the general rule, I'm not specifically aware of any legislation requiring the same in your state.

As an aside, pay cuts are not unlawful. The law only states the minimum a worker may make (i.e. minimum wage laws).
