An employer can change your pay up or down.

The only restriction is that you have to be notified in advance of any reduction in payment.
Not everything that makes you mad, sad or uncomfortable is legally actionable.

I am not now nor ever was an attorney.

Any statements I make are based purely upon my personal experiences and research which may or may not be accurate in a court of law.

Also the law only establishes that minimum that a worker must be paid (i.e. minimum wage laws). It does not deny pay cuts. It only says that your pay may not fall below that state mandated minimum wage rate. In North Dakota that amount happens to be $5.15 per hour.
