  • Arizona: Hourly employee working off-site. Arizona

1.) I am an hourly employee
2.) I am on a rotational schedule to carry an on-call pager 24/7 for 1 week at a time. I get paid 2 hours of straight time on an RDO and 1 hour of straight time on a scheduled work day to carry it.
3.) I am now being required to take home a laptop with a cell phone and respond to any and all calls coming in during the after hours. In addition I am required to monitor systems every for hours during a 12 hour coverage period.

I am being told that I will only get paid for the time I am actually on a call or monitoring a system remotely. To me it seems wrong that because I feel I am actually teleworking and not working on call since I am constantly available to customer calls for a full 12 hours. My sleep is being disturbed regularly for 5 minute phone calls.
