What are the laws regarding a final paycheck? We outsource our payroll, we pay every two weeks. Is my understanding correct that if an employee resigns in the middle of or at the beginning of a pay period we can wait till the end of the pay period to issue the check. If an employee fails to show for work we consider this a voluntary resignation and issue the check at the regularly scheduled pay period. If an employee is terminated by the company do we have a time frame i.e., 24, 48, 72 hours by which we must issue a check? Can we wait till the regularly scheduled payroll to issue the check?
