  • Non-compete Virginia

I was required to sign a non-compete when I accepted my current job. I recently left the company, and they refused to provided a release of the non-compete - However, I was required to sign an agreement on leaving that reinforces the non-compete for a period of one year after I leave the company. When I reviewed the signed off document, the date that it is effective is incorrect, and actually refers to last year, which would make the non-compete no longer in force. It's their mistake, and they didn't catch it. Would this hold up in court?

You might want to talk to an employment or contract attorney in your area & take your non-complete & agreement for review.
Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around. Leo Buscaglia
