  • Felons Utah

Is it legal for an employer in the state of Utah to fire someone because of a background check when you informed them of what was on your record when they hired you? I have a background and I told my employer on the application and through out the interviews that I had a background they still hired me and four month's later they fired me.

Most likely legal. We don't know what your felony record was for or what type of job you were hired for.

Did they say the reason they fired you 4 mos. later was due to your background check (felony record)?

PS - How long ago were you charged/convicted with the felony?
