  • Employee being held financialy resposible for mistake Texas

I am a manager for a multi-location implement dealer. One of my employee's
{6 month trainee} made a very costly mistake when ordering a part for a big machine. The store owner is holding myself as well as another employee financaily responsible. He expects us to pay him for the mistake!! If I refuse, can he hold it out of my check? Is this legal?? If I refuse to pay him, can he legally fire me for that mistake?
