  • Not getting paid? Pennsylvania

I was working for a company which had just opened up. On the day we were supposed to receive pay checks we were informed that the business was closing. We were not given our 2 weeks of pay and would not get the half of a week that was in progress. I spoke with the owner and he told me there was no money to be given. I worked a total of 83 hours in 2 and a half weeks and I am NOT ok with not getting my money. What are the next steps in getting my pay?

To file a wage claim with the PA Department of Labor, keeping in mind an old adage about blood and turnips.
The above answer, whatever it is, assumes that no legally binding and enforceable contract or CBA says otherwise. If it does, then the terms of the contract or CBA apply.
