  • Early Release from work Oregon

    Hi,
I was wondering how early an employer can send you home on an 8 hour scheduled shift. Today I was sent home an hour and a half into my scheduled shift w/ out a choice. Ive heard that they must let you work half of your shift. Is this incorrect?

    Thank you

  • #2
Yes, that is incorrect. They can send you home five minutes into your shift if they want to. Oregon is not one of the very few states that has any kind of reporting pay provision.
The above answer, whatever it is, assumes that no legally binding and enforceable contract or CBA says otherwise. If it does, then the terms of the contract or CBA apply.
