I gave my 2 weeks notice to my current employer. Last week I was sent home for being sick and called off sick the following day. I get paid hourly but we are given 3 sick days a year and 2 weeks vacation. When I received my weekly check they did not pay me for my sick day. Can they do that?

Yes, they can do that. As a nonexempt employee, the law requires only that you be paid for time actually worked. It is not all that uncommon for employers to not pay for time off during a notice period.
I don't respond to Private Messages unless the moderator specifically refers you to me for that purpose. Thank you.
