  • Over Time NYC

Quick question. I am in NY and need for my staff to work some over time hours next week. Is there any reason by law in which I would not be able to sechdule the over time hours to my staff?

Nope. Unless your employees have a bona fide, legally binding contract that guarantees they will not ever have to work overtime, you can schedule it as you wish.
The above answer, whatever it is, assumes that no legally binding and enforceable contract or CBA says otherwise. If it does, then the terms of the contract or CBA apply.

      Thanks,
I looked at the NY DOL and could not find this in writting. Can you suggest were I might be able to find this in writting?

You're going at it from the wrong end. It's not that there is a specific law giving you permission to schedule your employees for overtime; it's that no law exists prohibiting you from doing so.
