I have been working for the same company for two years, driving my own personal car and paying for my own insurance with the limits they requested for company business. Now the company is requesting that I sign a motor vehicle release form to look at my previous driving record. They state that if there is anything negative on there I can be terminated. Since working with this company, I did not get any tickets or violations during the period while working for them. However, can they fire me for a license revocation suspension received 1 year prior to my employment with this company? Should I have been notified of this policy before I accepted employment? If there is a policy change the policy should only apply to me effectively going forward?
