  • Reimbursement for milage New York

I work as a commission salesperson for a home improvement contractor. In addition to commission I am supposed to be reimbursed for milage expenses at the IRS maximum rate. My employer requires that I turn in my milage log on the 1st of the month following the expenses. He says that he will issue the check within two weeks. Often the time frame is much longer. Is there a time requirement for him to pay the expenses?

    Not in New York.

The only state that requires reimbursement of expenses AT ALL is California.

Therefore, since your employer is not legally bound to pay them at all, there is no law about how often or how soon to pay them.
Not everything that makes you mad, sad or uncomfortable is legally actionable.

I am not now nor ever was an attorney.

Any statements I make are based purely upon my personal experiences and research which may or may not be accurate in a court of law.
