  • Non Compete Agreements, Whats your opinion about them?? Minnesota

What is your opinion on non-compete agreements?

    Are they inforcable in Minnesota?

If you are fired is your non compete agreement still valid or do you think it should be void?

What are reasonable reasons to have a non compete agreement?

Do you think stopping someone from working in a industry that they have worked in for there whole life is right?

These are just a couple questions I have about non compete agreements, but if you have anything to share about non compete agreements please feel free to write your opinion. I would love to hear many thoughts.

Depends on the details. You'd have to take the document to a local attorney for advise.

    sorry, never mind.

I don't respond to Private Messages unless the moderator specifically refers you to me for that purpose. Thank you.

I would NOT love to hear many thoughts. Or any.

The purpose of these boards is not to vent about what the law ought to be or to complain about what they are. They are to provide general legal information.

If anyone feels compelled to share their thoughts about non-competes with the poster, please do it by PM. Not here.
The above answer, whatever it is, assumes that no legally binding and enforceable contract or CBA says otherwise. If it does, then the terms of the contract or CBA apply.

No one is venting about anything. What I want to hear is peoples feed back to what they know about non-competes and anything that they know about non-compete laws. so if you dont know anything, or dont care to share anything then thats your choice. Go back to bed and try to wake up on the better side this time.

And I know from past experience what a thread dedicated to "people's opinions" will turn into. And it isn't pretty.

I've already said people can give you their thoughts by PM.
