Are you supposed to get paid time and a half while working holidays?

  • #2
No, employers are not required to time and half time for holidays. If an employer has a written contract or policy that employees will be time and half for holidays, then the employer is obligated to pay employees as required by the written contract or policy.

Looks like I'd better get that Holiday Pay post up pronto.
The above answer, whatever it is, assumes that no legally binding and enforceable contract or CBA says otherwise. If it does, then the terms of the contract or CBA apply.
