  • Illinois time clock!

I have been with the company since I turned 18, all along, we had the seven minute grace period for punching in and out. The other day, my boss came in, and posted a bullitan stating employees can no longer punch in until two minutes prior to their shift, and must punch out at the allotted time. I had car troubles the other day, punched in five minutes late, still within the standard seven minutes, but i am not sure what is going to happen. Is there a law in Illinois stating there is a seven minute grace period?

No, there is not in Illinois or any other state. They don't even have to give you a grace period at all.
