  • Unpaid Vacation while I still have paid days Florida

I arranged to have vacation taken and it was agreed to, verbally. On my last day at the office I was given a form to fill in for my vacation days, which I neglected to do.

Upon returning I was told that these days would be unpaid leave as I had not filled in the form. I have 60+ paid vacation days available. Are they able to classify these days as unpaid leave even though I have paid vacation days still available?

Yes, they absolutely are. I can't say I agree with their management technique but there is nothing whatsoever illegal about their action.
The above answer, whatever it is, assumes that no legally binding and enforceable contract or CBA says otherwise. If it does, then the terms of the contract or CBA apply.

      Yes, they can. Sorry.
