Making "NO LUNCH" mandatory/Forcing hourly employees to work Overtime

    My question is a two part question:

    1st. Can a company doing business within the U.S and worldwide force it's hourly employees to work "mandatory overtime"?

    2nd. Can a company doing business within the U.S and worldwide force it's hourly employees to stay in for lunch? In other words, requiring them to stay in for lunch giving them only a 10 minute break for 8hrs. worked?

    I see you're from Fl. Some law is state specific.

    1) Yes, unless you have a binding employment contract or CBA to the contrary. (with some exceptions, such as airline pilots, minors, long haul truckers, there is a limit on the hrs. they can work in a day)

    2)Fl.: Fl. does not require rest or meal breaks for adults. If the employer gives them anyway, they can require you to stay on the premises/in the bldg. during that time.
